In keeping with tradition, festivals take place throughout the summer, each village celebrating with live music, food and dancing until the early hours.
17th July – The mountain village of Exoghi holds a festival for Saint Marina, live music and dancing until the early hours.
20th July – The village of Kioni celebrates for Saint Ilias (a small chapel by the sea 3kms outside of Kioni), a service takes place in the morning at the chapel and in the evening the celebrations take place on the waterfront in Kioni.
July - The last Saturday in july, a wine festival is held in the village of Perachori.
5th / 6th August - The largest festival on the island, in the village of Stavros, live music, food and dancing both evenings.
14th August – The mountain village of Anoghi, celebrates in the square, until the early hours of the morning.
15th August – The most religious festival of all festivals for the Assumption of the Virgin Mary takes place in the village of Platrithias.
8th September – A pilgrimage takes place at Kathara Monastery.
